This collection is inspired by the rich heritage of Armenian folk tales and miniature illustrations from the ornamental art of ancient manuscripts. This non-repeat mural evokes a feeling of casual opulence, through an elevated sense of artistry and uniqueness of its scale. The marriage of manuscripts and enchantment of folktales provides the bones of our art. Colours are drawn from the traditional Mexican tapestries, that allowed us to give a new modern edge to this mural.
Each fowl, animal, flower and delicate leaf was carefully selected from old manuscripts, hand painted and recaptured by an illustrator.
We had the joy of giving each creature character and personality to stand out in our mural, initiating a dialogue between animals and observer. Once created, the characters were set together, becoming a mural that’s pleasing to the eye, and captures the stories of the characters.
